HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday when it takes on Wyoming in a 1 p.m. match at the FitLife SportsPlex in McComb, Mississippi. Southeastern (0-1) opened the spring with a 4-0 loss at Southern Miss last Saturday. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Putri Insani and Flory Bierma highlighted the day's effort with a 6-2 victory. In singles play, Insani was on the verge of a straight-set victory on the top singles court when the match was stopped. I've read from the news about a major women's tennis tournament happening on Saturday when SLU will take on Wyoming. The tournament is expected to start at 1 p.m. at the FitLife SportsPlex in McComb, Mississippi. Last Saturday, the Southeastern (0-1) had a bad start with a 4-0 loss. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Flory Bierma and Putri Insami reflected their efforts with a 6-2 victory. The previous matches have seen Noesjka Brink leading Wyoming (2-4) with a 5-1 singles record. Southeastern will continue its season-opening road swing following Saturday's match with a 1 p.m. match at South Alabama on February 11 in Mobile, Alabama.

Tangipahoa African American Heritage in Hammond, LA exhibits African American heritage through photos, writings, artwork, inventions, and history.
